SGA

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as a bridge between the student body and the campus administration. In this organization, we ensure students voices are heard, as well as represented in an equal manner. As a member of SGA, duties vary based on what role you decide to take. However, some roles may include attending committee meetings, ensuring updates on how the campus can improve, and much more. Besides balancing being a student and a voice for others, SGA serves as a stepping stone on what it means to be a servant leader in roles of power. Thus, the organization is meant to guide students to use their skills and passion and apply it in real-life leadership role.

Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM)

BCM is a fellowship of college students who are seeking to find and implement God’s purpose for their lives and their world.  BCM is a multi-faceted program of, for, and by students, with the assistance of the campus minister, and is open to all students regardless of their religious denomination.  Along with many social activities, the BCM has Bible Studies, missions projects, state-wide BSU programs, including conventions, conferences, and retreats; as well as other ministry opportunities in which to participate. All members of the Bluefield College community are members of the BCM regardless of their denominational affiliation.

Black Student Alliance (BSA)

The Black Student Alliance has eight active members. All sophomores, four being student-athletes and one being a veteran. BSA's mission is to promote an inclusive Christian campus environment, promote social justice, coordinate activities that strengthen cultural and political awareness, and prepare young leaders to become agents of change. BSA is currently raising money for a Fall 2018 trip to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Student Activities Leadership Team (SALT)

The purpose of SALT, Student Activities Leadership Team, is student engagement as well as student activities. We get our name from Matthew 5:13, "You are the salt of the earth...". Our team plans campus activities for students, residential and commuter, to become involved. SALT helps to grow the Bluefield College experience for any and every student that may be on or off of campus. We strive to be a diverse team that organizes various events on Bluefield College campus.

Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT)

STAT aims to facilitate interaction between students and alumni, and enhance the students experience by providing opportunities that strengthen lifelong loyalty to Bluefield College. STAT has a direct link to the Bluefield College Alumni Association and will help bridge a connection between current students and the Association Members. The organization provides the opportunity to network with alumni, develop marketable skills, and promote the Bluefield College Alumni Association's commitment to philanthropy, community, and engagement.
